eGIX Leads Way in Communications Continuity with
Automated Disaster Recovery Solution
CARMEL, Ind. — In the wake of destructive
storms that ripped through the Hoosier state last spring, eGIX
Inc. representatives assisted several displaced businesses to
return to operation.
From that realization came the voice and data
communication company’s latest offering, Automated Disaster
Recovery. Available throughout Indiana, Automated Disaster
Recovery maintains telephone communications for customers even
when phone lines are knocked out of service.
“People do business around the clock, around the
world,” said eGIX COO and Executive Vice President James
Kinnett. “A vendor in California or a customer in India doesn’t
know or care about the reasons why they get a busy signal when
they call. All they care about is connecting to you. This is why
we offer Automated Disaster Recovery to our customers for
communications continuity.”
Similar to a crisis communications plan,
Automated Disaster Recovery may be activated at any time –
particularly vital in times of unforeseen electrical or
telecommunications outages. Incoming telephone calls are
diverted to an alternate phone number, such as a cell phone,
home phone or remote location, to ensure all calls are received
by a person – not a busy signal.
While eGIX has developed solutions around
communications continuity, Kinnett said the onus rests squarely
on business owners to incorporate such technology into
contingency planning. All of the eGIX companies, including
DSLindiana and Kiva Networking, now offer such solutions as
Automated Disaster Recovery.
