PROFILE
Expanding eGIX grows with Neighborhood Email

Local business publications recently announced that Indiana’s largest Small Business Investment Company, Centerfield Capital Partners, L.P., made a $2.25 million investment in Carmel-based eGIX. One of America’s largest integrated communications providers, eGIX serves as a single source for a broad range of communications and Internet technology services. The company already serves 37 of the top 50 metropolitan service areas, and plans to use this infusion of capital to further expand its reach into other markets and to continue developing new, innovative services.

egixThe eGIX team is constantly developing newer and more effective ways for businesses to use technology. But when it comes to using email as a marketing tool, the company turns to another group of experts: Neighborhood Email. “We run a pretty tight ship here, and do all of our internal product development using our team,” explains Rebecca Stevens, director of marketing for eGIX. “That limits our internal resources for activities such as marketing, so we look for outside help in some of those areas.”

Neighborhood Email handles our customer newsletter, which we send to over 30,000 people each month” says Stevens. “They help us with writing, design, and graphics – and they manage the mailing and back-end functions such as unsubscribes.” Extending the company’s commitment to help customers maximize benefits of their eGIX services, the newsletters provide helpful, practical tips on everything from email management to safer online commerce. “We also include anything that is newsworthy as far as new product launches, expansion of services into new markets, or promotional offers,” she adds..

Stevens reports that the effort provides clear results. “I measure the responses that we get from our customers by using a specific email address, so we know what’s coming through the newsletter and can track the interaction with our customer base. I’ve been very pleased.”
